A Closer Look at Fleet Lettering

Fleet lettering has two jobs. It identifies the vehicle, and it advertises the organization every mile the vehicle travels. We cut unit numbers, door logos, department names and service markings for trucks, vans, cars and service vehicles, in sizes that read at road speed.

Emergency and municipal work calls for clear, classic lettering. The Wilmore Fire Department pieces on this page are Gold Foil with a black outline, the traditional look for department vehicles, cut as one ready to apply piece. The same approach suits police, works departments and utilities: strong contrast, clean letterforms, no clutter.

Consistency is what makes a fleet look like a fleet. Order the same lettering in the same size, font and colour for every vehicle, and replacements match the originals exactly. When a vehicle joins or leaves the fleet, one order covers it.

Lettering is priced and cut per vehicle, and fleet orders can be sent as a list: vehicle, wording, size and colour for each. Every piece arrives labelled, with the written application guide in the package. The vinyl is made for outdoor use and holds through weather, washing and daily service.

Unit numbers are cut in one standard style for every vehicle in a fleet.

For sizing, door lettering should read from across a parking lot, and unit numbers should read at a glance. Measure the door or panel space and we will help settle the height before anything is cut.

Fleet Questions

Can you letter one vehicle or a whole fleet?
Both. One vehicle orders and full fleet lists are cut the same way, to the same standard.

What if a vehicle is replaced?
Reorder the same piece and it matches the rest of the fleet, because the size, font and colour stay on your standard.

Can you cut our department crest or logo?
Send the artwork and we will cut it as a vinyl decal sized for the door or panel.
