Duchi Designs Gold Finish Guide: The two main types of gold finish we offer are Metallic Gold and Gold Foil.
Metallic Gold — elegant metallic sheen; less mirror-like.
Gold Foil — bright, highly reflective gold finish. Also called Mirror Gold, Gold Chrome or Gold Leaf in some of our listings.
If you're choosing a gold finish for your decal or sign, it's important to know the difference between metallic gold and gold leaf (also known as gold foil or mirror gold). Though they’re both beautiful and eye-catching, the finishes are quite different—and choosing the right one depends on the look you're going for.
Metallic Gold
Metallic gold vinyl has a shimmering, subtle look with fine reflective particles embedded in the material. It catches the light softly and gives a rich, elegant finish that works well in both casual and formal settings. The tone is usually a warm, classic gold—subtle and sophisticated with soft shimmer.
Gold Foil
Gold leaf vinyl, often called mirror gold or gold foil, has a high-shine, reflective finish that looks like actual gold plating. It's bold, flashy, and highly polished—almost like a gold mirror. This option adds a luxury feel and is perfect when you want your design to truly stand out.
Finish: High-gloss, mirror-like
Texture: Smooth and reflective
Best for: Premium signage, luxury packaging, weddings, or anything that needs that “wow” factor
